San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was arrested on suspicion of soliciting prostitution, plunging the franchise into crisis. However, York isn't the only member of San Francisco who has been arrested; here is a list of 49ers who've had run-ins with the law. Linebacker Aldon Smith had multiple arrests during his time in San Francisco, including multiple DUI charges, felony weapons charges and a DUI hit-and-run charge. Reuben Foster, another linebacker, was arrested in 2018 for marijuana possession and was later released following domestic violence and felony weapon charges. Defensive end Ray McDonald was arrested in 2014 on suspicion of domestic violence and was released after a sexual assault investigation. In 2014, cornerback Chris Culliver was arrested following a hit-and-run incident where he allegedly threatened a witness with a brass knuckle. Former Defensive Player of the Year Dana Stubberfield was convicted of rape in 2020 and sentenced to 15 years in prison before being released in 2025 on appeal.
