The Alabama Crimson Tide broke multiple three-point records during their 113-88 Sweet 16 victory over the BYU Cougars at the NCAA Tournament.
Alabama shattered a 35-year record of the most three-pointers in an NCAA Tournament after clocking 35 during the triumph, which is also the most in Division 1 this season.
The Crimson Tide broke the previous record, which was held by Loyola Marymount, who registered 21 buckets from behind the arc in their 149-115 second-round win over Michigan in 1990.
Alabama's Mark Sears and Aden Holloway were instrumental in achieving the feat, with the pair becoming the first duo to record six or more three-pointers each in a Tournament game.
Sears was red-hot from deep, going ten-for-16 from three-point range, just one short of tying LMU's Jeff Fryer's record of 11 three-pointers that he recorded in that game against Michigan.
Alabama broke the record with 7:41 remaining in the game when Sears knocked down a three from the left wing to put his team up 97-76.
The Crimson Tide took 77.2% of its shots from three, which was the highest percentage of a team's field goals attempted coming from three-point range in Tournament history, breaking Iona's record of 74.2%.
Alabama continues their March Madness run with the win and will now face the Duke Blue Devils in the Elite Eight.
